Obverse of This Coin - Coin List

Constans Small Bronze - 2 Soldiers, 1 Standard Reverse

GLORIA EXERCITVS Type
The boldly struck up mintmark is clearly AQP, the second officina of the mint at Aquileia. LRBC lists this coin as a number 692c. The extra large standard with a wreath depicted on the pennant made this coin an unusual type and attracted the author's interest. The piece formed an interesting addition to his collection and was purchased along with another from this mint at a local coin show. Each coin cost a paltry two dollars. Bargains like this are not uncommon when searching through dealers' junk boxes.
