AE3/4 of Delmatius with Two Soldiers, One Standard Reverse

The two Soldiers, one standard types were struck under the emperors Constantine I, Constantine II, Constantius II, and Constans. Additionally, they were struck in the name of Constantine's two nephews, Delmatius and Hanniballinus. The reverse bears the legend GLORIA EXERCITVS, meaning, "Glory of the Army."

This type replaced the two soldiers, two standards reverse. After about 330 AD, inflation had shrunk the size of the flans from about 20mm to 17m and less. This necessitated removing one standard from the design in order to make the reverse less crowded.

The mintmark in the exergue is barely readable, being possibly ASISC or BSISC, which would place the mint at Siscia.
