This is a nicely struck example of a PAX AETERN reverse on a mid Third Century antoninianus. Notice the exaggerated serifs on the letters in the inscription. This is probably a popular artistic style rather than sloppiness on the part of the mint workers who cut the dies used to strike the coins.
